New Year, like any big holiday, many cannot imagine without fireworks. But you need to know that loud pyrotechnics can add not only positive emotions, but also cause harm, so safety precautions must be observed.
Definition
Fireworks are fiery charges that follow into the sky at regular intervals, while drawing all sorts of shapes. Elements can be of various colors and shapes. Often, the game of lights is held at large celebrations and at the launch sites of the city. The cost of this pleasure is rather high, so an ordinary person will not always be able to acquire such pleasure just like that.
How dangerous is this
Starting fireworks is considered completely safe if you follow the instructions. They are not explosive, since the gunpowder used for manufacturing does not burn out fast enough, so this is not enough for an explosion. Based on these factors, we can conclude that such pleasure is no more dangerous than matches.
Cases where people are simply injured are often due to irresponsibility and negligence. They very often do not read the instructions and do not follow safety rules, and also run devices made by themselves. It is strictly forbidden to do so.
How to choose
Fireworks is a show in which you need to decide what effect you want to get. For noise it is recommended to use firecrackers, for those who want to have fun, it is better to purchase flying fireworks. Fountains look very impressive and beautiful (a huge number of sparks coming out of the ground). Salutes, rockets and Roman candles are perfect for a full firework display.
Views
- The coolest and brightest are the "super salutes". A large number of volleys from 28–418 and various effects are concentrated in one box. This variety is distinguished by its power and great entertainment, their beauty will fascinate anyone, and also causes incredible delight among the public. Depending on the chosen model, fireworks bursts last from 37–440 seconds. To start, just install and secure the box, and then set fire to the wick.
- Firework Batteries are also a great option for a huge celebration. They are not as spectacular as the previous ones, but still quite beautiful. The number of volleys collected in them varies from 7–150, and the duration takes from 15–120 seconds. There are also various effects.
- "Roman candles" are a budget option, which contains from 3-10 volleys and from 2 to 5 effects. They look like elongated tubes, and launching them is quite easy, the heightflight range is from 2 to 40 meters.
- "Rockets" are fireworks that can make a lot of spectacle and smoke. They quickly enough make several or one volley at a fairly high altitude (70–100 meters), after which they completely go out. It is a great and inexpensive option for any event.
Where launching is allowed
In each of the cities there are special sites where fireworks are allowed. Their location is often determined by the municipal authorities, and their list is published on the official websites of the city. Such places are located far from residential premises, and on holidays employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations are on duty there.
Starting fireworks in the yard is not a good idea, since pyrotechnics have a danger zone radius. This area should be free of parks, houses, power lines, and trees. For "batteries of fireworks", "super salutes" and "rockets", this radius is 30 meters, and for "fountains" - 5. When there is windy weather outside, the distance increases by 3-4 times. It is preliminary recommended to find a site that can comply with the stated rules, so that later you do not select the required zone at night. And also it is necessary to think over the location of the audience. It is recommended to watch fireworks at a distance of 30-50 meters from the coverage area.
Preparing for launch
- Before you start launching new fireworks, you need to properly prepare. Carefullyinstructions are read. There is a description on each of the boxes, and it is also worth considering where the launch will take place.
- The installation must be unpacked, it is important that the foil and cellophane do not need to be removed. Then you need to find the wick, which is often under the foil. If there are several, the instructions will indicate which one is the main one.
Starting the process
- It is necessary to carefully secure the box with pyrotechnics so that it does not tip over at the time of launch. The surface on which the fireworks will be placed must be firm and level.
- "Rockets" must be placed exclusively vertically (it is recommended to strengthen the launch tube as it should be, and not to deepen the rocket itself so that it can easily get out after lighting the wick). "Roman candle" is placed at a slight angle relative to the audience. "Flying fireworks" is recommended to be launched on a pre-prepared piece of cardboard, the size of which is 5050 cm.
- It is better not to use a lighter at the time of launch, as you can get burned. It is recommended to use matches, hunting matches are the best. No need to bend over the box, and the wick needs to be ignited at arm's length.
- Before starting the process, you need to make sure that no one is around.
Safety rules
- Fireworks are pyrotechnics, so under no circumstances are they allowed to be fired by hand. Exceptions are sparklers and firecrackers.
- Childrenbe sure to perform this procedure only with parents. It is better to watch the show without dogs, as they can simply get scared and turn the unit over during the launch.
- After completion, it is imperative to move to a safe distance of 30-50 meters, and then enjoy the performance.
General recommendations
- It is forbidden to start fireworks while intoxicated, as this is fraught with burns.
- Before starting arson, you need to make sure that the pyrotechnic product is not damaged in its box (there are no cracks, creases, deflections, visible wetting). When there are problems, it is better not to use this device.
- If at the time of launch the wick is completely burned out, and the show has not started, then you should not try to re-ignite it. This can trigger an immediate launch and injure whoever installs it. Non-working products with a completely burnt wick can be returned back as defective and get your money spent for them or replace them with others.
- Pyrotechnic devices should never be dismantled before or after use. Since the mechanism may not fully open, and this may be traumatic.
- If the wind is more than 10 m/s, it is not recommended to launch. This is quite dangerous, and also not always beautiful. Sparks from ground devices will be blown away and expectations will not be met.
- After the show is over no installations are allowedapproach for 10–20 minutes, as the process taking place inside is incomprehensible from the side.
International Festival
The fireworks festival in 2017 was held in Moscow. This event took place on August 19 and 20 in the Brateevsky Cascade Park. The theme of the festival was very significant and sounded like "Moscow on 7 hills".
The main participants were teams from Russia, Armenia, China, Croatia, Japan, Brazil, Austria and Romania. As part of this event, seven historical hills appeared. The guests of the holiday were expected by thematic entertainment, as well as various master classes, meetings with poets, sports competitions, performances by pop stars, quests, street performances and other entertainment.
This event can be called the night of fireworks, since the start of the competitive program began at 21-00. The performance of the team lasted 10 minutes. On each day of the competition program, 4 contestants demonstrated performances. The guests of this holiday were expected by 60 thousand volleys, for which 27 tons of pyrotechnics were involved. The height of the fire reached 200 meters.
New Year's fireworks
The progenitors of modern ideas with the use of pyrotechnics were ancient rituals, for the implementation of which it is necessary to use fire. With the help of massive torches and bonfires, monks and priests created fire and light effects in order to honor the gods.
The tradition of celebrating the New Year came to our country from Asia, and to be absolutely precise, from the ancientChina, in which there was a superstition about spirits that wander. On the eve of the New Year, these incorporeal entities begin to look for new shelters for themselves, and in order to prevent them from settling in the owners' house and throughout the year they did not bring misfortune, it was necessary to scare them properly. And this can only be done with the help of sparklers, firecrackers, fireworks and crackers. After the invention of gunpowder, the development of pyrotechnics received a new impetus.
Since then, using fireworks for the New Year has become a tradition around the world. At the moment, it is impossible to imagine this holiday without the use of such bright fiery decorations.
