A swimsuit is a specific type of clothing designed for swimming or relaxing near the water. The very first of them appeared in the 20s of the last century, they were called bathing suits and, in fact, they were the same: like other clothes, their main purpose was to hide the naked body from prying eyes.

Something has changed since then, and bathing suits have taken on a familiar look. A tan is in fashion, and the swimsuit contributes to its receipt: it is open to the limit so that the details do not leave noticeable marks on the skin. Even the classics began to look different. Now she is more daring and feminine.

Types of swimwear

With all the variety of models, women's sizes of swimsuits are still universal. Regardless of whether it is separate or classic one-piece (solid, fused). In summer, there is no limit to the variety of colors, the main thing is to look bright. The cut of products also varies widely. Mono-, bi- and trikini are also in the lead, respectively, consisting of one, two and three pieces for bathing.

National peculiarities

The size of a Russian-made swimsuit is designed for heights from 170 to 176 cm and from 158 to 164 cm, up to 56. Chinese factories use the international letter size designation system (ascending): S, M, L, XL with increasing quantity X as an indicator of non-standard volumes. Chinese women have smaller parameters, so Chinese-made swimsuits are too small for Russian women.

Size standards for swimsuits made in the USA are completely different from Russian, Chinese and European ones. Numbers are in inches, which is 2.54 cm.

European countries also sew swimwear according to their own standards. The Russian size of a swimsuit is equal to the European one plus 6 units to its indicator. Among European standards, Italy, France, Germany, Poland, and the UK have their own series - the products of these countries differ from those generally accepted in Europe.

Italy marks products with numbers from 1 to 6. The Russian size will correspond to its digital indicator minus 2.

Germany and Poland do not use "from" and "to" indicators, their value is an average, so only one number is indicated in the amount. A one-piece swimsuit made in these countries needs to be taken more, because it is designed for an average height of no more than 165 cm.

Useful little things

Separate swimsuits are equipped with a bodice and swimming trunks, so you have to choose the size for two things at once. The label of a swimsuit mainly contains a number corresponding to the girth under the bust, and the letter A, B, C, D, E, F, G - this is the fullness of the cup, defined as the difference between the girths under the bust and the bust.

The cups of the top of the swimsuit are as follows (diameter in centimeters): A - 12-13; B - 14-15; C - 16-17; D - 18-19; E - 20-21; F - 22-23; G - 24-25. For example, if the circumference under the bust is 80 cm, and the chest is 98 cm, then the size is calculated as follows: 98-80 \u003d 18 cm, which corresponds to a D-cup. That is, you need to choose a swimsuit with a bodice 80D.

As a rule, the sizes of the upper part of the swimsuit and swimming trunks are proportional, that is, they are respectively selected by the manufacturer, based on the standard build. For example, the circumference of the hips is 107 cm, according to the correspondence table, these are the swimming trunks of the Russian 48-50, which is equal to the European 42, suitable for the top 80 D with a girth under the bust of 98 cm.

As a convenient alternative, there is always a replacement size, the so-called parallel size. For example, 85A can be completely replaced by 80V. This does not apply to swimwear with ties without retainers.

Let's say we managed to accurately measure our parameters, and it turned out that they fit two sizes at once. In this case, it is better to choose a swimsuit that is larger in order to avoid the effect of tightening and not draw attention to yourself on the beach with a swimsuit that is obviously small.
