Officially, the Day of the court worker in Russia does not have a red day on the calendar, however, many representatives of the law celebrate their professional holiday on December 5 every year. This date is taken for a reason. Let's go back to the last century and see what events this holiday is associated with.

Historical facts

Many servants of Themis believe that celebrating December 5, Day of the court worker, is not entirely correct, because for the first time the date of the decree on the court was adopted exactly one hundred years ago, namely: March 7, 1918. It should be understood that this decree applies to courts of general jurisdiction. And the creation of the bodies of the Arbitration Court took place with the participation of one of the most famous political figures - V. V. Lenin - September 21 in 1922.

To rally all the military commissars, several Decrees on the court were developed. The very first of them - the Decree on the creation of a new Judicial system - was adopted in 1918 on November 22 according to the old calendar (Julian) or December 5 according to the new calendar (Gregorian).

The first Decrees on courts were considered by the All-Russian Central Executive Committee in 1917-1920. The principle was simple: to destroy the old courts that had operated under tsarist rule and create new institutions whose activities would be regulated by new Soviet laws. A whole century has passed, and the significant date of the formation of the judiciary is still remembered. The Day of Court Workers in Russia on December 5 is celebrated annually for this very reason.

Who is considered a court employee

Usually, at the word "court", many people associate with its most important representatives - judges. However, in addition to them, everyone who is somehow involved in the Russian judicial system is considered court employees. These are prosecutors, and lawyers, and lawyers, and secretaries who are engaged in legal proceedings, as well as all technical specialists, without whom the storage of data on each case will become impossible. Each employee of the court is the bearer and executor of the state service of the court apparatus. On the Day of the court worker, it is customary to congratulate everyone who has a higher legal education and works according to their qualifications in any of the courts of Russia.

Interesting facts

In Ukraine and Kyrgyzstan, December 15 is considered the official holiday of court employees. Since there is a place in the judicial system of Ukraine for the institution of people's assessors, citizens who have experience in serving as jurors are also equated with court employees and congratulate each other on their professional holiday.

There is no official holiday in Russia yetcourt employee, however, such a proposal was made by the chairman of the Arbitration Court of Appeal. According to Galina Fedina, the appearance of this holiday will unite the somewhat disparate system of courts.

How to congratulate the servants of Themis? Very simple: just like representatives of other professions. A greeting card, a bouquet and real chocolate can always bring joy to any court worker. And for lovers of elite alcohol, you can pick up good whiskey or wine. If your familiar lawyer does not drink alcohol, pick up good tea or coffee.
