The history of the Tyumen specialized Orphanage begins in 1872. It was founded by the merchant Semyon Trusov, a well-known philanthropist in those days. At his expense, the Vladimir Syrup Eating Facility was built. The shelter was named after Grand Duke Vladimir, who later became one of the honorary trustees.
History of the Baby House in Tyumen
The institution brought up children whose parents died or were unable to support their families. It was a two-story house surrounded by outbuildings. The pupils of the orphanage mastered various types of crafts in order to earn their livelihood in the future.
Special attention was paid to the religious development of children. For them, a four-year Orthodox school was created here. Subsequently, on the territory of the syrup facility, a church was built for the patron saint of infants, Semion the God-Receiver.
Pupils were given clothes, underwear and a sheepskin coat. According to the charter, girls lived in the orphanage until the age of 16, and boys - until 15. Graduates were en titled to an allowance.
A new stage in the history of the shelter
After the armed conflict in 1919, only 32 toddlers remained in the orphanage in Vladimir. The older children disappeared due to past events. The social department of Tyumen decided to establish on the basis of this shelter "Mother and Child House". They opened an institution in the wooden mansion of the merchant Guseva. Maria Shulina, who graduated from three grades of the school, was appointed headmaster. She took office at the age of 21, being a supporter of the ideas of communism. Later, she was replaced by Maria Strelnikova, who was educated in Moscow after graduating from nursery school.
From that time on, a new stage began in the history of the existence of the Baby House in Tyumen, the photos of which are not able to fully convey the kind and cozy atmosphere that prevails there. Over the following years, one name was replaced by another. But the essence of the activity of the institution - to raise children, to think and take care of them - remained the same. The pupils of the house have always received a warm welcome here.
Construction of an additional building
The baby house in Tyumen on Kuznetsova since the summer of 1947 has become the last refuge of the institution. The building had the most modern architecture in Tyumen for that period. Later, in the 1980s, an additional building was designed and built with funds received from a voluntary subbotnik. It was built for the middle zone of the USSR and is designed for one hundredplaces. At the same time, the state institution receives the status of a special purpose. The orphanage begins accepting babies with central nervous system disorders and mental problems.
Currently, about 100 children are raised here, from infancy to the age of four. The Tyumen Children's Home is a place where kids are given warmth, comfort and knowledge necessary for the formation and development of their personality.
