Technologies of the modern world tend to minimize and eliminate wires. This leads to the fact that recently there are more and more various devices and devices that are powered by AAA batteries. Such devices are in the house of almost each of us. These are wireless mice, razors, TV and DVD remote controls, pocket voice recorders, audio players, etc.

AAA batteries are often referred to as "little finger" or "mini finger" batteries due to their small size. The following designations may also be used to label these types of batteries: LR3, R3, LR03 (IEC) and R03. When choosing a galvanic cell for your gadget, you should first of all pay attention to the type of electrolyte used, since the capacity, duration of operation and the possibility of recharging depend on it.

Depending on their composition, conventional AAA batteries are divided into saline, alkaline (alkaline) and lithium.

Power supplies that use saline electrolyte are designed for low load and are used, as a rule, in watches, electronic thermometers and remote controls. They are the cheapest and most durable. You can distinguish them from another type by the absence of an L prefix in the marking, for example R3, R6, and low cost (as mentioned above).

Alkaline (alkaline) batteries "AAA" occupy an intermediate place. They use potassium hydroxide as an electrolyte and this is the main difference from s alt cells. Chemical reactions in such sources occur at a faster rate. This contributes to a better return of current. They last longer and are suitable for equipment with an average level of energy consumption: audio players, PDAs, radios, etc. They can be distinguished from another species by the word "alkaline" and the presence of the letter L in the marking.

The best lithium batteries are "AAA" type. They have the lowest internal resistance and the longest possible service life. They are beneficial to use in devices with intensive energy consumption: toys, LED lights, etc.

If the device is used often enough, then AAA type rechargeable batteries will be an excellent alternative to the "mini-finger" alkaline and lithium cells. With the help of a charger, such sources can be recharged on average about a thousand times. The capacity of rechargeable batteries is usually specified in ampere-hours. The following types of such elements are currently widespread:

• Li-pol(lithium polymer);
• Li-pol (lithium ion);
• NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride);
• NiCd (nickel-cadmium).

Each of them has its own characteristics. So, NiMH batteries are very sensitive to overcharging, and lithium also depends on voltage and temperature. Sources such as NiMH and NiCd have the so-called "memory effect", which consists in a decrease in capacity when charging an incompletely discharged battery. In addition, these two types are characterized by noticeable self-discharge, that is, the loss of charge even in the event of inactivity when the device is turned off. Cadmium batteries, although they have low energy intensity, withstand frost well and are able to withstand even short circuits.

Therefore, the choice of "AAA" type power supply depends entirely on the device in which it will be used and the conditions of future work. Also, when buying an item, you need to pay attention to the brand and expiration date.
