History of the holiday

This holiday became official in 1979 in the USSR, but its traditions were laid down much earlier. Back in 1957, the scientific community began to celebrate it and reward representatives of technical disciplines. The initiative at that time was shown by the Academy of Sciences. The best innovators began to receive awards from the state and even cash prizes. And the first society that honored the traditions of craftsmen, back in 1932, was the All-Russian Society of Inventors.

When the Day of the Inventor and Innovator is celebrated

In our time, this holiday began to be celebrated in the summer, namely in June, every last Saturday. The numbers change, of course, because they can't be the same every year. For example, this year the holiday was celebrated on June 24th. Day of the inventor and innovator next year, 2018, will be on Saturday, June 30th. Although it has been celebrated for many years, it is not considered an official holiday.

Traditions

Since the Day of Inventor and Innovator became official in Russia, its traditions have not changed. There is a commission that was created at the RAS. She was and continues to be engaged in the search for such non-standard inventions, which, in her opinion, can become outstanding. On the day of the celebration, she exposes special lists of inventions considered outstanding that have been made over the past year, as well as the data of authors,who created them.

For scientists, this is very important due to the fact that in our time it is extremely difficult for the creator of any new scientific development to obtain a patent for it on his own. To do this, you will have to look for sponsors, spend a lot of time and effort, because considerable financial investments will be needed. The fact that the Russian Academy of Sciences supports the authors gives them a chance to overcome all difficulties. For these purposes, the commission of the Russian Academy of Sciences selects the most interesting works produced during the year.

But besides the usual formality, the All-Russian Day of the Inventor and Innovator includes the traditional festive awarding of certificates and various valuable gifts. It often happens that interesting competitions are held among inventors related to their professional activities. The winners are awarded solid prizes and prizes.

This holiday is not celebrated today on such a large scale as in past times, but it cannot be called insignificant. Now, despite the difficult situation, patents in the Russian Federation are still issued. Of course, not in the same way as it was in the USSR, but there are many of them. Most discoveries are made in the following areas:

• Medicine.

This is a lot, the main thing is that the talents have not lost their desire to create and create something new. Unfortunately, today the holiday is not celebrated on a grand scale. The main thing is that they do not forget to remember the people who gave the world new opportunities. Thanks to discoveries, humanity today conquers outer space, flies on airplanes, has modern computer technology, without which it is difficult to imagine life. People who strive for new discoveries should always be supported. If not for them, the world would have remained in the Stone Age until now, and thanks to these bright minds, civilization could develop to such a high level in a relatively short period.
