Yazidis sometimes call themselves Ezdi. According to the head of the Yezidis of the whole world, Mir Tahsin Said-beg, this ethno-confessional group belongs to the ethnic Kurds. The ancestral home of the Yezidis is the Iraqi province of Mosul, from where they settled around the world after the First World War. Today they live in Turkey, Armenia, Georgia, Russia.

The Yezidi wedding begins early in the morning at the groom's house. Close relatives, musicians, friends gather. Closer to noon, the guests head to the bride's house, where a small but laid-out table is already waiting for them.

Yazidi weddings are an inextricable complex of fun and traditions, so the procession moves along the street with songs, national music, dances. Women high above their heads (for everyone to see) carry gifts for the bride (Sani), accompanying them with the singing of national melodies.
