Gone are the days when TV and Olivier salad were the main decoration of the table. Red caviar and champagne can be bought at any roadside shop, everyone, including the homeless, flaunts in imported down jackets, and Marlboro cigarettes are not only not rare, but the fashion for smoking is generally disappearing. Well, how to celebrate birthdays in such conditions, pray tell? How to please, entertain and surprise guests?

As the heroine of the Soviet comedy Verochka said: "Nothing is impossible for a person with intelligence." Traditional festivities with mayonnaise salads have been replaced by a fashion for themed birthdays and parties.

The idea, in general, is simple and lies on the surface: a theme is chosen, and the whole holiday takes place in its mainstream. The room is decorated, dishes are prepared, outfits are selected, music, games and contests are selected - all in accordance with the chosen direction.

For example, if the topic is Pioneer, then everyone wears redties, blow bugles and beat drums, eat baked potatoes and sing "Rise the Bonfires." But it is more suitable for children. An adult themed birthday party can be planned in gangster style - and then everyone dresses in black and white clothes and hats, drinks whiskey and plays poker. Orientations can be very different: Greek, sea, pirate, space, flower. A nature-themed birthday can be held Hawaiian-style, especially if you have the sea and the beach as your nature. However, if the sea didn’t work out, and you managed to be born in winter and in the middle lane, it doesn’t matter - we’ll have a Hawaiian party at home or somewhere else!

Of course, themed birthday parties in the style of this carefree tropical island are best spent in the absence of a poolside sea. By the way, many do just that: they rent a holiday home or a cottage with an artificial reservoir “on board”. If you're one of those lucky ones, tell your guests to bring swimsuits, put on colorful cocktails and colorful Hawaiian beads (leis), hang up an Aloha!

If you do not have such opportunities, but want to give guests a piece of tropical paradise, then you will need to prepare more carefully for the holiday. And what can I say, we do not often arrange themed birthdays, you can puff once or twice.

So that everything goes as it should and does not resemble a children's party in the senior group, try to pay attentionlittle things.

Firstly, the room should be decorated accordingly: bamboo curtains on the doors, large potted palm trees (if you don’t have your own - take it from your neighbors), posters with seascapes and beauties in the style of "Baywatch", bright napkins on the table, shells and pebbles on all sorts of surfaces.

Secondly, the clothes of the guests. Warn everyone to wear colorful shorts and Hawaiian shirts or just summer t-shirts. As a replacement shoe, slates will be just right. Your task is to prepare a lei (national decoration around the neck) for each guest. It can be made from paper or artificial flowers strung on a thick thread or rope. These decorations will need to be handed out at the entrance, while saying the traditional greeting: "Aloha!"

Meat dishes with fruit, seafood salads, roast pork meat dishes, fruit desserts and jelly should be put on the table. Juices are perfect for drinks, and alcohol in this case is best served as part of cocktails decorated with colored straws, umbrellas and pieces of fruit attached to the edge of the glass.

Themed birthdays cannot do without traditional contests and games. The most famous Hawaiian game is walking under a tight rope, which gradually decreases in level.
