The belt became part of military uniforms several centuries ago. Without this important element of uniform, it is impossible to imagine either an ordinary soldier or a commander. Army belts are distinguished by purpose, color, texture, buckle, and also depending on the military rank. Usually they are divided into two types - soldier and commander. 1. Length - from 110 to 140 cm. According to the size chart, there are four sizes depending on the waist circumference: the first (from 83 to 98 cm), the second (from 93 to 108 cm), the third (from 100 to 115 cm), fourth (from 113 to 125 cm).
2. Product width is typically 50mm although other variations are possible.
3. An officer's leather belt can be unlined or lined with yuft. It can be smooth or stitched.

4. The most noticeable element of the belt is the buckle, which is made of steel or brass. It can be with the image of the symbols of the state, type of troops or without it.
5. Color is strictly regulated: black or brown.
6. Modern military belts are black, fastened with a bi-metal two-pin buckle.
7. Ceremonial pieces are made of yellow braid and equipped with a brass buckle.

Functions

The officer's belt as military equipment has a purely practical purpose:

• holding pants;
• used to attach a field bag, a holster with a weapon, a gas mask, a flask of water, other equipment;
• used as a flail: during close combat, the free end is wound around the hand and, making certain movements, they try to hit the opponent with a buckle.

Officer's belts in our time are in demand in civilian life. They appealed to tourists, fishermen, hunters, lovers of outdoor activities. The belt can carry various items, including heavy ones. It performs the role of a rope, excellently copes with heavy loads and can withstand the weight of several people. An army belt is an indispensable thing on a camping trip.
