Preparation for it requires a lot of effort, time and, of course, financial investments. Nevertheless, you can arrange another small holiday that will bring a lot of joy to future spouses. We are talking about such an old tradition as the matchmaking of the groom.

Today, many do not pay much attention to this event. But this is a great occasion to arrange a real holiday, to provide an opportunity for the parents of the bride and groom to get to know each other better and discuss important organizational issues of the upcoming grand event. We also note that the matchmaking of the groom has always been revered in the old days in our country, there were various beautiful ceremonies, to which some of the modern grooms also pay tribute. If you want to do something unusual, depict a scene of ancient times with matchmakers, songs and dances, then you should write or find a ready-made matchmaking script from the groom. But be aware that you needconsider some unspoken rules.

If you decide to match the groom according to all the canons and rules, then you should choose one of your close people as a matchmaker. In the old days, an elderly relative of the groom or his godfather was usually chosen as a matchmaker. Today, when all the rules are very simplified, it can be a friend or even an acquaintance. According to the rules, matchmakers had to come to the bride's house only after sunset, so as not to jinx it. Their main task was to inform the family of the future bride about the intention of the young man to marry her. Usually, specially prepared phrases in allegorical form were used for these purposes. An example of such a phrase, which makes the matchmaking of the groom more original and gives it a touch of old traditions, is the following: "You have goods, we have a merchant." The goods in this phrase mean the bride, the merchant - the young man offering his hand and heart.

In order for such a responsible event to take place at the proper level, one should prepare well for it and study various scenarios. In this case, a great responsibility falls on the shoulders of a person who plays the role of a matchmaker - he must be cheerful, lively and energetic, because this largely determines how the matchmaking of the groom will end. The script for this unusual solemn moment can be found ready.

For young couples who are indifferent to all sorts of ancient traditions and customs,a more modest and quiet matchmaking is suitable. A young man can simply come to the house of his chosen one and ask her parents for her hand in marriage. It goes without saying that you should not go to the house of your beloved empty-handed. At a minimum, take care of a couple of bouquets of beautiful flowers: the first for your future bride, the second for her mother. After the matchmaking of the groom is over, many couples today have an engagement party, at the end of which the young man solemnly asks for the hand of his beloved in the presence of relatives and friends.
