The "dry" mode has already been tested, now it's time for the "wet" mode. Such a runny nose does not need to be treated, it will end on its own when the baby's nose fully adapts to the environment. To facilitate breathing, you can only instill saline solutions or saline half a pipette per nostril. After a couple of minutes, the snot will come out on its own along with the solution.or the baby will just swallow them, which is not at all scary.

2. Teeth are cutting. Sometimes a runny nose in an infant may appear during teething. It's quite normal. Fever, diarrhea, or constipation may also occur during this period.

3. Rhinitis. It happens that the baby could get cold or catch a cold. In this case, the cause of the common cold is an infection. Symptoms of acute rhinitis are usually persistent frequent sneezing, watery eyes, and a yellow-green mucous discharge from the nose. If your child has these symptoms, do not hesitate to call a doctor, especially if the child is less than two months old.

Rhinitis is not always a separate disease, sometimes it can manifest itself as a symptom of another disease. This is a very serious situation when an infant is sick. Cough and runny nose together are most common. And they talk about the presence of a cold.

Treatment of a runny nose in an infant

When this disease appears in a baby, first of all, it is worth calling a doctor at home, he is needed to accurately determine the nature of the common cold and the reasons for its appearance. In the meantime, the doctor is on the way, help the child yourself. To begin with, try to suck out the mucus, this is especially necessary if it prevents the baby from sucking the breast. This must be done very carefully so as not to harm the small nose. For these purposes, you need to use special children's aspirators or a regular pharmacy pear of small size and always with a soft tip. If the nozzles are very thick and settled very far, which is notallows you to suck them out, then first put three drops of saline solution into the spout. You can also use ready-made products "Aquamaris" or "Aqualor". After five minutes, try sucking the mucus again.

If a runny nose in an infant is accompanied by swelling, then your doctor may recommend vasoconstrictor drugs. Drops designed specifically for young children are harmless, but still do not use them for more than three days in a row.
