History of Creation

The very prototype of the writing instrument appeared in the thirteenth century. At the end of the eighteenth century, the French scientist and inventor Nicolas Jacques Conte invented the modern model. Further it was improved, first Lothar von Fabercastle solved the problem of rolling by proposing a hexagonal shape of the product.

Working principle

After releasing the button, the "petals" close and hold the lead in position.

A collet pencil (2mm is the most common, available from 0.1mm to 5mm) can be made from a variety of materials. There are wooden, metal, plastic, combined cases. For convenience, rubber inserts can be installed in the girth area. They expand the body of the pencil and do not allow it to slip in your hand. They also differ in the quality of the eraser.
