A bit of history
In our country, road workers officially began to celebrate their professional holiday after the head of state initiated the creation of a corresponding decree in early November 1996. Four years later, the Day of the Road Worker in Russia began to be celebrated every third Sunday in October.
On this day, congratulations are received by all those who in practice are engaged in the arrangement and maintenance of roads, as well as the construction of highways and bridges. It is thanks to the road workers in our country that there is (although not everywhere) a high-quality and safe road network that connects various Russian regions.
Does Russia need this holiday?
Some may ask the question: "How relevant is the introduction in Russia of such a holiday as the Day of the Road Worker?". The answer is quite simple: our country is in the process of active development of road infrastructure. The age of high technology and the increase in demand for the car as a means of transportation contributed to a radical renewal of the tasks that were previously set for the road industry. Of course, this increased the range of rights and obligations of workers employed in the above field of activity.
It is they who should take care of the high level of convenience, comfort, and most importantly, safety on the tracks of our vast Motherland. The ever-growing needs of road users must be met in a timely manner.
Statistics confirm the fact that the volume of freight and passenger traffic is growing day by day.
Road workers fulfill an important mission
Of course, in our country, such a professional holiday as the Day of the Road Worker is simply necessary. Of course, we must pay tribute to all those who in practice take care of the implementation of projects for the construction and development of roadbeds throughout Russia. Recently, it has been possible to update most of the federal and regional highways. Modern roads make it possible to move around the country by car with comfort. Of course, this is the merit of those who are engaged in the arrangement and maintenance of automobiletrails.
The Day of the Road Worker appeared in the list of professional holidays in our country not by chance. It was in this way that the leaders of the state expressed their desire to emphasize the degree of significance of their work.
On the day of road workers, congratulations to workers, designers, drivers, machine operators are said by their immediate superiors, colleagues, friends and relatives.
The Day of Road Workers 2013 passed in a festive atmosphere. In the regions, the governors, on their own behalf, warmly congratulated all those who work "tirelessly" in the above field of activity.
Their hard work and incredible perseverance, which they show in dusty and oversaturated tracks, deserve the highest praise. They are doing their best not only to implement the planned social programs, but also the most important national projects.
