How to remove adhesive tape?
To do this, you will need a building or regular hair dryer, vegetable oil, sponge, thinner, utility knife, high-quality glass cleaner or eucalyptus oil.
Use the hair dryer to thoroughly heat the tape. Then take a solvent designed to remove acrylic adhesive. You need to remove the foamed fabric or polypropylene backing. Next, take a sponge, apply a solvent to it and clean off the remaining glue.
You can alsotry using white spirit, acetone, kerosene, gasoline or thinner 646. The technology is similar - the double-sided adhesive tape must be preheated, the base removed, and the remaining adhesive removed using the agent applied to the sponge.
The best effect is achieved when using a building hair dryer, but you can also use a household hair dryer.
You may not need to heat the entire surface of the adhesive tape. Just make a directional impact on the edge. This will be enough to pick up and remove the tape.
Another way to remove residue is to use fatty oil. Under its influence, acrylic adhesive easily moves away from the surface. And it doesn't even require any effort. Just take any vegetable oil, apply it on a sponge and grease the double-sided tape well. Leave it for 12 hours. You can then simply remove the adhesive tape. You don't even need to use a hair dryer. Oil residue can be easily removed with any solvent.
To remove double-sided tape from a glass surface, you can use a simple utility knife instead of thinner. First you need to remove the base, and then gently scrape off the remaining glue. Then all you have to do is apply a super glass cleaner - you can buy it at any auto shop.
Do not use cleaners or detergents to remove acrylic adhesive residue. Double-sided tape does not get wet at all, so it is useless to try to remove it with ordinary water and detergent. If the surface to be removed islacquered, do not use solvents and heat exposure. This may damage the surface. Lubricate the adhesive tape with essential or eucalyptus oil and leave for several hours. Then remove the base. Glue residue can be removed with Super Glass Cleaner.
