Modern romantics of the high road are not robbers from a fairy tale at all. The real knights of the tracks, who live on the road, who know every path and road on the map of the country, are, of course, they, truckers. They are changing a quiet, stable life with work from dawn to dusk for a nervous, torn away from family and home, a difficult profession. And they also celebrate their professional holiday separately from other drivers.

When is Trucker Day in Russia?

Naturally, like all those who drive, these people celebrate the world-famous celebration - Motorist's Day. This date is floating and usually falls on the last Sunday in October. At least in Russia, Belarus and Ukraine this holiday is officially celebrated in this way.

But taking into account what kind of cars drive motorists who transport goods over long distances, what difficulties and dangers they face on the way, the professional holiday is Trucker's Daynoted separately. It is celebrated on the last Sunday of summer. So, Trucker Day-2013 fell on August 31 and completed a series of summer holidays last year.

They jump from flight to flight, sometimes do not see their family for months and therefore are more attached to their brothers in the shop. But in their ranks you can meet a real brotherhood. Others work in the staff of a company that provides transportation services. But regardless of the status, they are united by an ardent love for travel, the road and their car. But outside the community of long-distance drivers, which, by the way, sociologists single out as a separate subculture, how is Trucker's Day celebrated? Among people who are far from this profession, few people know about this holiday at all. It is only reported on the airs of "Radio Chanson" or "Road Radio" - the favorite radio stations of these romantics of the big roads.
