November 16 is a special date for many citizens of our country. Designer's Day is celebrated in autumn. This holiday appeared not so long ago. It began to be celebrated only in 2005. Until that date, they all remained completely undeservedly forgotten. Now that they have their own day (albeit not designated at the state level), all representatives of this profession can relax, receive congratulations and be in the center of everyone's attention.

Whom do we congratulate?

The essence of the holiday, which is officially called "All-Russian Designer's Day", is simple and clear. On this day, they pay tribute to representatives of a very important and necessary profession. The fact is that earlier they all considered the Builder's Day to be their holiday. However, this is not entirely correct, because construction and design are two completely different areas. Thus, the designers, who perform critical tasks every day, work overtime and often without days off, were completely ignored.

Fortunately, in 2005 the government nevertheless decided to correct this unfortunate injustice and gave the engineers of this specialization their own day - November 16th. Even if this wonderful holiday - Designer's Day - does not have a huge scope, but it gives all people the opportunity to remember their friends or relatives and pay tribute to them.

A little about the profession

To finally understand why Designer's Day is so important and necessary, let's see what exactly the representatives of this profession do. In fact, the profession is very ancient. People began to study its basics as soon as they started building, because before building any, even the simplest building, it needs to be carefully thought out and designed.

One of the most famous designers can be considered Leonardo da Vinci. You may be surprised, because we know him as a talented artist. The fact is that at one time Leonardo was first and foremost an outstanding scientist, engineer, designer, and secondly an artist.

In Russia, Peter I gave a huge impetus to the development of the profession. He invited the best craftsmen from the West to our country to train his craftsmen to design phenomenal buildings.

How is it customary to celebrate?

Alas, the All-Russian Day of the Designer is not celebrated at the state level. However, in recent years, the celebration of this dayis gaining more and more popularity and, accordingly, large scale.

The first organized celebration took place in St. Petersburg in 2005. That year, only 150 representatives of the profession gathered. But a year later this day was already celebrated in three cities, and more than 600 people of this profession took part in it. Further more. In 2007, the tradition was picked up by another 6 cities of Russia, so that more than 2 thousand professional designers were able to joyfully celebrate their day. So, from year to year, Designer's Day gained more and more fans. Now this holiday is celebrated in almost every city of the Russian Federation.

So, November 16 is Designer's Day. If you have friends of this profession, do not forget to congratulate them, they will be really pleased. Congratulations on the Designer's Day can be verbal, but it's even better if you add some interesting and thematic gift to the words.
