When performing work involving pollution of any kind, it is necessary to use protective equipment, such as combined gloves (in case you want to protect your hands). You can use them both at home and in a variety of industries.

There are several types of mittens; they are all made from different fabrics and materials (natural or artificial) designed to work in specific conditions. The advantage of gloves and mittens is practicality, comfort to wear, freedom of movement, durability. In addition to protection against pollution, they protect against injuries during construction, loading and unloading, agricultural and other works.

What are combination mittens?

This is one of the varieties of protective equipment for human hands. This model of equipment is made from cotton and tarpaulin fabric. A special, wear-resistant pad on the palm is made from tarpaulin material. Thanks to the combination of two materials inone product such mittens are called combined.

Types of products

Today, there are five types of combined mittens. They are designed for different areas of activity:

  • Products equipped with a set-in tip.
  • Models with the same attack, which is one-piece cut with the bottom of the glove.
  • Gloves, in which the attack is located on the side at the inflection of the product. Such models can be worn both on the right and on the left hand.
  • Products equipped with two tips designed for index and thumb.
  • Elongated mittens with leggings, which are pulled together at the wrist with a special supporting elastic band. In such models, a handheld is provided, and the attack is tuned.

The consumer is presented with four sizes of combined mittens: 0, 1, 2, 3.

Production specifications

According to GOST 12.4.010-75, combined mittens are produced using special materials and threads, depending on where they will be used in the future.

So, products are designed to protect against:

Mechanical impacts and abrasion

For the manufacture of the base of such mittens, a dressed severe two-thread is used. Also, harsh linen double-thread, semi-linen or flax-capron double-thread, as well as flax-lavsan double-thread can be used here.

In addition, semi-linen canvases, a material with lavsan fiber, are used in the manufacture of mittenssevere diagonal weaving, as well as vinyl-leather-T and elasto-leather (for the manufacture of overlays). Here it is also permissible to use the melange fabric "Horizon" cotton-lavsan impregnated with a combined type.

Splash of molten metal, sparks and dross

For the production of mittens intended for work in hot shops, materials such as overcoat cloth and linen canvas treated with refractory impregnation and asbestos fabrics (for the base and lining) are used. The pads on the back of the product are made of heat-reflecting elasto-leather.

Thermal radiation and contact with heated surfaces

The materials described above apply here. Refractory impregnation number may vary depending on production conditions.

Solutions of s alts and water

In the manufacture of mittens of this type, plain-dyed raincoat and tent fabrics with impregnation, semi-linen canvas treated with waterproof impregnation, as well as rubberized fabrics (for overlays and bases) are used.

High and medium concentration acids

To protect against concentrated acids, the manufacturer must use special materials intended for the manufacture of acid-proof equipment, half-woolen cloth acid-proof materials with polypropylene, polyester acid-repellent fabrics.

For the production of gloves designed to protect against acid of low and medium concentration, materials for overalls with polypropylene and lavsan are used, andalso acid-protective cloth ShKhV-30. Severe cloth is used only for the manufacture of those products that will be further processed with latex.

Low concentrated alkalis

Here should be used: half-linen canvases treated with waterproof impregnations, harsh cloth, as well as two-thread linen and half-linen.

Petroleum products (petroleum, oils and solids)

In the production of gloves designed to protect against oil products, fabrics with lavsan fiber, semi-linen canvases impregnated with water, viscose-polyester materials with oil-repellent properties, water-repellent vinyl artificial leather "Storm", as well as oil and petrol resistant elasto-leather are used.

Fittings

As for accessories, in the manufacture of equipment for hands they use:

  • elastic support tape (for tightening products),
  • cotton threads treated with an anti-rot solution (these threads are not used in the manufacture of alkali-resistant models),
  • lavsan and nylon threads (not used in mittens that protect against high temperatures).

In the manufacture of heat-shielding products, special phenyl and sewing threads are used. These threads, as well as reinforced threads, are used in the manufacture of products designed to protect against oil products. But reinforced raw materials are not used in heat-protective, alkali-protective and acid-protective models.

Now yougot acquainted with the description of combined gloves according to GOST 12.4.010-75, which was introduced by the State Committee for Standards of the Council of Ministers of the USSR on January 1, 1976.
