The width of the smaller base should be 45 cm, and the larger one 50 cm, of which 2.5 cm on each side side go down a little. The height of the pocket should be the same everywhere - 25 centimeters. The need for this form is explained by the fact that an elastic band passes along the long base, which will shorten it a little, and if the pocket is made rectangular from the very beginning, then after threading the elastic band, deformation will occur. On each side, the elastic should protrude 2-3 cm so that you can “grab” it on the sides and close the sides. As a result, the drawstring should turn out to be slightly gathered. After that, an oblique inlay is applied along the perimeter of the pocket, fixed with pins and stitched. The pocket for the transformer blanket is almost ready.
An important point in sewing a pocket to a blanket for a newborn for discharge is that after inserting the elastic, the sidesvisually they should seem semicircular, but they still need to be attached in a straight line so as not to make its volume smaller.
