There is also an optical bleach for linen. However, in fact, this tool creates only the illusion of purity and whiteness. The composition of such products includes special luminescent substances that slightly color the fabric and reflect light. If you want things to be really white, use chemical bleach for linen.

Chlorine bleaches

The main substance of these funds is sodium hypochlorite. Also, the composition of chlorine-containing bleaches may include components that tint the fabric. Such agents have chemical and optical properties. Bleaches with chlorine are quite popular: they have a low cost, restore whiteness to tissues, and have a disinfecting effect.

However, this tool also has disadvantages. Chlorine-containing laundry bleach is very aggressive to the fabric, destroying it. As a result of frequent use of the product, pillowcases and sheets quickly lose their appearance, the material becomes very thin and begins to tear. Do not use bleach on delicate items. Wool, silk and many synthetic fabrics will simply spoil such processing. You should also know that aggressive products cannot be poured into the washing machine along with the powder. Oxygen bleaches

Oxygen bleaches are a relatively new householdchemistry. They have the same strong effect as bleaches with chlorine, but they are much softer. Such products can be fearlessly used for processing silk and wool fabrics, delicate synthetic materials. Moreover, you can safely use such a bleach for colored laundry - the active ingredients that make up the product will not only perfectly remove dirt, but also refresh the color. Oxygen-containing bleaches work effectively at low temperatures (30-40°C). Hypoallergenicity and environmental friendliness are other advantages of these products. Of the minuses - only high, compared with chlorine-containing bleaches, the price.

How to use laundry bleach?

1. Before using the product, you must carefully study the attached instructions and strictly follow it. It is necessary to remove metal elements from clothing. Under the action of bleach, they can rust and deteriorate, and leave dark spots around them that even the most effective product cannot remove. Bleach should not be poured directly onto the fabric as it may be damaged. The product must be dissolved in warm water (three teaspoons per liter of water).
2. Do not use metal containers for bleaching. A plastic or aluminum basin is a good choice.
3. Coarse linen in a solution with bleach is kept for at least an hour, thin light fabrics - 10-15 minutes.
4. After the specified time, things must be thoroughly rinsed until the smell of bleachwon't go away completely.
5. You should also know that the best result can be achieved if things from coarse fabrics are placed in a small amount of solution, products from fine fabrics - in a large amount.

Baby bleach should only be used after the baby is 6 months old. You can wash your baby's things with a powder in which bleach is already present. Its main ingredient is hydrogen peroxide. The tool will not only effectively whiten things, but also destroy all known pathogenic bacteria. Chlorine-based bleaches for baby clothes should not be used at all, it is safer to choose products with oxygen.
