Today we would like to discuss one of the most difficult medical problems. There are still discussions about what abortion is. "For" and "against" can be considered indefinitely - all the same, opinions will be different. And how can one come to a single conclusion when such a complex moral and ethical question is being solved? Indeed, under such a neutral word lies the murder of an unborn person. Moreover, it is up to his mother to decide whether to let him live or kill him.

No matter how far medicine has stepped, all the same, interference in the natural processes of life and death always unpleasantly touches the strings in the soul. And despite the change in methods, all the same, artificial termination of pregnancy is called murder by most of the world's population. This is even if we do not take into account the canons of the church, according to which such an action is interference in the affairs of God, and, therefore, it is completely unacceptable.

Abortion options

How can an abortion be performed? We will consider the pros and cons in our article, but I would like to dwell on this issue a little. Does its essence change depending on the method chosen by doctors? Apparently not. After all, the result remains the same. The man who could live his life never came into the world. So, abortion options:

• Medicated abortion. It is performed in the early stages with the help of taking special drugs that provoke a miscarriage. In general, speaking about abortion, for and against it, it should be noted that it is this method that causes the least social unrest. A woman takes the drug for a period of 2-3 weeks, and the pregnancy that is barely starting to form is interrupted. It is morally easier for the expectant mother herself. If we build an analogy, it turns out that taking hormonal contraceptives that interfere with the fertilization of an egg is also akin to such an abortion. Although usually no one has anything against them.
• Vacuum abortion. Usuallyperformed over a period of 5 to 8 weeks. In this case, the embryo is sucked out of the uterus using a special device. And again the question arises: is such an abortion better or worse? "For" and "against" can be put forward again ad infinitum. And if a woman knows for sure that she will not be able to raise a baby? Then which of these methods is better? Another unanswered question.
• Surgical abortion. Committed up to 22 weeks. If you've seen creepy pictures of doctors removing a dismembered baby from a woman's body, you'll probably say that the anti-abortion petition should be signed by every person on earth.

Then it means that all other forms of abortion can be practiced? But what about those cases when a woman who has given birth to a child throws him into the street? Or is it still more humane in this case to kill in the womb than an abandoned baby? And again, many different views, each of which has the right to exist.

Is there a difference?

Here we can say the following: the petition against abortion does not share the responsibility of the woman and the doctor, depending on how this operation was performed. However, it is morally easier for both the expectant mother and the physician to decide on such an act at an early date. This is usually justified by the fact that the fetus is not a child, but a kind of clot of cells from which a baby could then develop.

But think about simple numbers. 3-5 days after conception, the embryo begins to form respiratory, nervous and circulatory systems.systems. And after 18 days, a tiny heart will make its first blows. At 42 days, he already has all the senses. Physicians who have filmed abortions with tiny cameras know that the embryo avoids the doctor's scalpel. If the operation is carried out at later stages, then, as if in horror, the baby covers his face with his hands. Are you ready for such a step? Life will change, give you other options, and your growing child may become a real hope and support for the family.

But in fact there is a difference between the listed operations. A tiny early embryo is cut off from the umbilical cord and dies, deprived of nutrients. A large fetus, which is already fully formed, can clap its hands and listen to its mother's voice, suck its thumb, sleep and play with its hands, tear it to pieces. Part by part is removed from the mother's body. Such late procedures should be prohibited. Only the doctor himself, for medical reasons, can prescribe them.

For social reasons

Voting against abortion is carried out all over the world with enviable regularity. However, most people oppose the procedure. But always, summing up, they note: as an exceptional measure, the possibility of terminating a pregnancy should be left. What does it mean? That in some cases, life circumstances develop in such a way that a woman may not have another solution.

Look into the annals of history - more than once there have been periods of bans on abortion. Then anything can happen - the operation will be refused. The only exception is saving a womanby emergency induction of labor. Here, the issue of life and death of the baby is considered secondarily. In the case of a serious illness of a pregnant woman or fetal pathology, which is clearly manifested during the examination, an abortion is possible at any time. Saying that the world is against abortion, many forget that sometimes this operation can save a woman's life or deprive her of the need to care for a disabled person until the end of her days.

But there is another side of the coin. If the period is more than 12 weeks or the girl is a minor, no obstetrician-gynecologist in a public clinic will undertake an abortion based only on her desire. There must be a good reason. Therefore, women turn to private clinics. Here you can do everything by paying a certain amount for it. Therefore, the law against abortion still restricts the activities of state organizations, equating such an operation with a criminal one. Let's remember once again what it says: “Every woman has the right to decide for herself the issue of motherhood. At the request of a woman, termination of pregnancy can be performed for up to 12 weeks, for social reasons - up to 22, and for medical reasons - regardless of the term.”

The decision is made together

If you are faced with a choice, then share the responsibility in half. Consult with your spouse. If the husband is against abortion, then let him take responsibility for the maintenance of you and the future crumbs. It's much better than having to mourn the end of your life for years afterwards. And only if you both come to the conclusionif you can't afford a new family, look for a doctor.

Social movements

There are a lot of them. Bright slogans can be seen periodically in the press. “Russia is against abortion,” they say. What about social guarantees? If a woman is sure that with the birth of a baby they will leave her job, provide maternity payments, give her a place in the garden, help with housing, then most likely she will not go for an abortion. Indeed, in most cases, this is a step out of desperation. Therefore, before collecting signatures against abortion, it is worth asking women: why do they not want to keep their baby? Or maybe they want to, but they can't?

Arguments for abortion

The most important argument of those who defend their right to family planning is that the fetus takes on human form only in the third month. Therefore, by having an abortion, a woman saves herself only from a cell that has begun to divide and form. Of course, there is a lot of controversy around this fact. Religious communities will never agree with this point of view, saying that this is a new life that cannot be destroyed. In addition, there are other arguments that defend the right of a girl to have an abortion:

• A choice for every woman. Be that as it may, it is she who will have to bear, give birth and breastfeed. And if the memories of the child's father are too painful (bullying, beatings, rape), and the baby will be a constant reminder? Will the mother be able to accept and love him? But life without motherly love is also a slow kill, although not so obvious.
• The problem of orphanages. Today there are about 700,000 orphans in Russia. What kind of life awaits them? According to statistics, about 90% of these children are at risk. They become prostitutes, drug addicts, criminals. In this regard, an early abortion looks like a boon.

There is another side to this issue, which we have already touched on a bit. The petition against the ban on abortion says directly: if a woman decides to get rid of her child, she will find a way to do it. Let an experienced doctor in sterile surgery perform the procedure better than a crooked-armed grandmother in a dirty basement. At least the risk of complications in this case is much less.

What are the arguments against abortion?

Doctors do not get tired of repeating - this is an extreme measure. Therefore, you can not use it so thoughtlessly. Today, the number of abortions is simply colossal: for every 1,000 newborns, there are 500 abortions. Russian statistics are even more merciless. Already 60% of all pregnancies end on the surgeon's table. Despite all the advances in medicine, about 70,000 women die every year due to complications after an abortion. One in five will never be able to have children again. Agree, these are very scary figures, but these are only official data. It is strange that this is happening in our country, given the abundance and availability of contraceptives.

The second moment is not so touching to the soul, but also has the right to life. To date, about 15% of all funds allocated from the budget inmedicine, go for abortions. Why not spend them on creation? Moreover, there are so many people in the world who really need help.

And finally, the moral aspect. Life is priceless. And we have no right to give it with one hand and take it away with the other. Of course, we must not forget about the woman herself. If pregnancy ruins her life and makes the existence of the unborn baby unbearable, then perhaps it is really better to have an abortion. Why does the world need two unfortunate creatures? But let's take a more responsible approach to family planning. It's not that hard. You only need to regularly visit the district gynecologist, who will select the optimal contraceptive.

Instead of a conclusion

The issue considered in the article is very complex, multifaceted and practically unsolvable in the context of society as a whole. It must be considered for each specific family and women in particular. However, if there is an opportunity to avoid an abortion, then try to use it. Raising a child is not yet in your plans? Then before a stormy night, do not forget to stock up on contraceptives. Such a simple decision can save you from a difficult choice, and the body from such an intervention.

It is very important to promote sexual relations among the younger generation. A simple interest can lead to a number of problems, including sexually transmitted diseases, pregnancy, and, as a result, suicide. In any case, preventing a problem is always easier than courageously overcoming it.
