It all started at the dawn of the 20th century. In 1902, a young American from Kansas, as a blacksmith's apprentice and apprentice, invented and perfected a completely new technology. Thanks to his method of heat treatment, the blades of the knives acquired unique properties and were of the highest quality. At first, the young inventor made his knives in the premises of the old workshop, and ordinary old, obsolete files served as raw materials for them. However, the talent and skill of the author more than compensated for all the temporary difficulties of the production process. The real popularity of the products that came out of the hands of Hoyt Buck came with the outbreak of World War II. The military appreciated all the advantages of these knives, their extraordinary strength and reliability.

Family business

After starting a family, Buck moved with his family to California in 1947, where he founded H. H. Buck & Son, the Buck knife company. As the name implies, his eldest son Alfred became his partner and assistant in this matter. It was with him that my father shared all the subtleties and wisdom of his innovative technology. When Hoyt Buck passed away two years later, Alfred continued his father's work alone.

From the day thatthe first Buck knife was born, more than half a century has passed, and nothing has changed in the production of these products. They were all made in the same old workshop from the same files.

Miracles happen

Change came with the beginning of 1963. It can rightfully be called a turning point for the company. At this time, Buck Knives Inc. was officially registered. Buck knives corporation. There are no reliable facts due to which it appeared.

One of the versions says that the corporation was created with the money of a philanthropist found by the pastor of the community, whose parishioners were the Buck family. However, this is not so important. It is obvious that up to that time Alfred had dormant leadership talent. Production was rapidly increasing.

In the year 1963, a folding hunting knife model called the Folding Hunter was released. Its distinctive feature and novelty of that time was the blade lock, and the Buck 110 itself was a knife of excellent quality. To this day, Buck 110 knives continue to be produced, and the model has become a symbol of the company.
