Perforated glasses, or glasses with holes, according to manufacturers, are a simulator for vision correction. It can correct both nearsightedness and farsightedness. Manufacturers also promise improved vision for astigmatism and asthenopia (chronic eye fatigue).

Myopia (myopia) occurs in a person when there is a deformation of the eyeball, in which light rays are focused not on the retina, but in front of it. The reason for this phenomenon is the weakening of the eye muscles that hold the apple. Farsightedness is a phenomenon in which the image of objects is formed behind the retina of the eye. Most often, these are age-related changes. Astigmatism is a complex visual impairment in which visual acuity is reduced both far and near.

Perforated glasses look like sunglasses at first glance, but instead of lenses, they have plates with tiny holes. Manufacturers claim that this is a new development, created on the basis of the application of the laws of optical physics (refraction, defragmentation, interference of the light flux). For people who are not versed in physics and medicine, these phenomena look mysterious and not toounderstandable. But nobody offers to delve into the details. The principle of operation of such glasses is based on the phenomenon of object defragmentation with a simultaneous increase in the depth of field, due to which the image is focused exactly on the retina, which improves vision. This phenomenon is also called the aperture effect (“peeping through a hole”). In addition, the effect on the eye muscles is reduced, which contributes to their relaxation.

Manufacturers promise that glasses with holes, if the instructions are followed exactly and used for at least 30 minutes a day, can return one hundred percent vision literally within a year. It is advised to start with 10 minutes. At first, a person experiences discomfort, but over time he gets used to it. With these glasses, you can read, watch TV, work at a computer, and do other work.

There is another opinion. Many experts believe that glasses with holes are a useless device. Since myopia is practically irreversible in itself, that is, without outside intervention, one cannot get rid of it with one training, one can only stop the deterioration of vision. Farsightedness is easier to prevent by observing the visual mode and performing special exercises for the eyes. Astigmatism is most often a congenital defect of vision, with proper treatment it can be eliminated, but myopia will still remain.

A study by American scientists who tested glasses with holes made in the USA showed that this device is absolutely useless. It doesn'tcorrects vision. In addition, as it turned out, this is not a modern development. Similar devices existed in the Middle Ages. But over time, perforated plates were replaced with lenses, which are much more convenient and more useful.

So even if the glasses look very unusual, and seem to promise miraculous healing, it is worth considering how rational this miracle is. Not everything advertised as cutting edge technology is.
