Currently, the requirements for email sources are increasing. lighting, especially in terms of saving email. energy. Such devices include the LSP luminaire (dust and moisture-proof luminescent luminaire). At the same level of illumination, it consumes half the electricity than ordinary incandescent lamps. The luminescent light sources installed in it have a much longer service life than "Ilyich's bulbs".

Purpose and device

The LSP luminaire can be installed both on walls and on the ceiling. It is usually used to illuminate industrial premises, in the air of which there is a high content of dust and moisture. Increased moisture protection is achieved by tightly pressing the plafond to the base of the lamp with the help of special clamps, as well as a sealant laid around the entire perimeter of the base. The body of the lamp is made of metal. For those rooms where tightness is not so important, LSP without a sealant with a smaller number of clamps, with a degree of protection are usedIP43. Their cost is less than that of hermetic ones. The plafond is made of frosted impact-resistant polymer glass. For ease of use, it is attached to a metal base with a cord that allows you to keep it in a disconnected position. It is not recommended to use the LSP luminaire in residential premises, but if you still decide on this, then it is necessary to provide mixed lighting, that is, do not exclude joint use with incandescent or other lamps (for example, halogen or LED). This is necessary to reduce the harmful effects of fluorescent lighting on human vision.

Control gear

The LSP luminaire is equipped with start-up and control equipment (PRA) (colloquially - a choke) designed to ignite and maintain the burning of a fluorescent lamp. The lamp package also includes:

  • starter involved in the ignition process;
  • capacitor designed to compensate for reactive power (of course, the system can work without it, but the efficiency will drop sharply).

Benefits of electronic ballasts

The above-described design elements of the lamp have a number of disadvantages. For example, during operation, the throttle may hum, the lamps flicker for a long time before ignition, and the starter creates radio interference. Therefore, lamps with electronic ballasts installed in them are now becoming more widespread. Consider their benefits:

  • saving email energy up to 30%;
  • lamp life is up to 50% longer thanthose luminaires that use electromagnetic ballasts;
  • no pulsation of the light flux;
  • lamps turn on without delay;
  • completely silent work;
  • device weighs less.

The cost of such a lamp, of course, is higher, but over time, these costs pay off and provide significant savings. Lighting fixtures are available with one, two or four lamps of different power. For example, the LSP 2x36 electronic ballast is a two-lamp luminaire with electronic ballast. The power of one lamp is 36 watts. And LSP 2x40 lamps have two lamps of 40 W each.

All of these devices are powered by 220V AC mains.
