Working principle of absorption refrigerator
The absorption refrigerator got its name from the physical and chemical process of absorption taking place in it, namely the absorption of the gaseous mixture by the absorber of the refrigerant vapors formed directly in the evaporator.
In such a unit, ammonia is used as a refrigerant, and an ammonia solution serves as an absorbent, that is, an absorber. Also added to the system: sodium chromate to prevent corrosion on the surfaces of the tubes (external and internal) and hydrogen, which is necessary to balance the pressure in the system itself.
The principle of operation of this refrigeration unit is to circulate and evaporate the refrigerant. The ammonia solution through the tubes from the absorber enters the generator, from which the already saturated solution entersdephlegmator, and there it decomposes into water and ammonia. In the condenser, ammonia is liquefied and again enters the evaporator, and pure water again enters the apparatus for absorbing gases.
