A woman was considered a vessel of sins, temptation, filth. In the performance of marital duty, she was ordered to lie like a doll, not moving, allowing a man to do what he pleases. There was no talk of her satisfaction: sex with its positive experiences existed only for the strong half of humanity. Because what is a missionary position if not a vivid example of the prevailing role of a man over a woman in everything - in intimate life, social, political, economic, spiritual? That is why the priests taught the people that this position is the only possible and correct one for a respectable Christian. However, they are not alone - the ancient Greeks and Romans, Hindus, Chinese and representatives of other civilizations reasonably considered it precisely as the embodiment of the dominant position of a privileged strong masculine principle over a subordinate feminine one.
