The definition of intelligentsia is as follows: this is the category of people professionally engaged in mental work, the development of culture and its dissemination, with higher education.

This group includes businessmen, military, scientists, engineers, people in responsible positions, officials, as well as teachers, doctors, artists, journalists, etc. From this we can conclude that if you were brought up in a family, in which one of the parents belongs to the listed categories, then you are a pupil of an intelligent family.

For example, the family of a deputy of the regional duma is a priori intelligent, but often people who do not have a higher education are elected to a responsible position. How is the level of "intelligence" in life regarded

They look at the way a person behaves in society, how he expresses himself, keeps himself in public, whether he allows swear words in his speech. What car does he drive, how does he take care of it, how does he treat his soulmate and children. Does he supervise children? Does it keep them in check? Does he finally educate them, or does the street educate them?

And this applies to both spouses. But for the most part, the emphasis, of course, is on the man. If the wife is the boss in the house, and the final word is always hers, if the work that brings more income is her prerogative, it's okay. The main thing is that the family should always have order at home, so that the spouses always find a common language, do not make dirty linen in public and seem like a presentable couple.

"History of my family" as such does not play a role here. A person canto be in the family at least princes, but if now he is mired in drunkenness or other bad habits, no one will turn his tongue to call him an intellectual.

The difference between intellectuals and intellectuals

But don't think that if you look like an intellectual, you will be so in essence. After a few minutes of talking with you, any person more or less knowledgeable in the "social sphere" will be able to figure you out. A true intellectual should be him in everything. In dress, in lifestyle, in the ability to pose in public, in the commitment to respect the cultural values of the family and in communication as well.

But do not confuse intellectuals with intellectuals. You can be arbitrarily skilled in mathematics, philosophy, or deduction, but if your mind and ability to carry yourself in public in an intelligent manner diverge, you are far from being an intellectual. If parents keep up with the times, use advanced gadgets, show awareness of current world and domestic politics, speak in a competent language and always have their own point of view on any occasion, their family is undoubtedly intelligent, regardless of whether, whether they graduated from the institute, and whether they are engaged or not engaged in mental work professionally.
