"Prazitel" for dogs is used as an anthelmintic. This drug is produced in several pharmacological forms, therefore it is very convenient to use. The medicine has a wide spectrum of action: it is used both for prevention and for getting rid of worms, round and tape. "Prazitel" for dogs is highly effective, which is confirmed by both veterinarians and owners of four-legged animals. Three active components of the drug allow you to effectively deal with parasites. Each of the components affects the worms in its own way and therefore does not give them a single chance for survival. The tool is very popular in veterinary medicine, it is safe for animals and humans, but before using it, you must carefully read the instructions.

Release form, composition

"Prazitel" for dogs is available in several forms - tablets and suspension. This allows the owner to choose the most convenient drug for use, as well as calculate the correct dosage based on the weight of the animal.

Suspension for dogs "Prazitel" is more in demand, because it is very convenient to give it to an animal. The kit, in addition to detailed instructions, also contains a syringe dispenser, which allows you to easily measure the desired dosage for the animal. Three active components have a detrimental effect on parasites:

• fenbendazole;
• praziquantel;

Just like the suspension, this variation of the drug is available in two forms:

1. "Prazitel plus". This medicine can be used in four-legged animals of various body weights and ages (not earlier than two weeks old). One tablet of the drug contains the same concentration of active ingredients as the suspension for adults - the maximum amount. As for auxiliary substances, these are starch, milk sugar, gelatin.
2. "Prazitel" for puppies and cats. This type of tablet is endowed with a more gentle composition, so it is most often recommended to be used for babies. There is no fenbendazole, and the rest of the active substances are the same as in the suspension for puppies. Auxiliary components are the same as in the tablets of the previous type.

One box of tablets contains from 2 to 10 pieces. This packaging allows you not to overpay for the excess, which then just goes into the bin. In addition to the tablets, the box contains detailed instructions.

Pharmacological properties

Efficiency is achieved thanks to a competent composition, the main components of which are three active substances. Let's talk about their impact in more detail, so that it is clear how it works.

1. Praziquantel, getting into the body of a dog, begins to look for worms. Having found it, it penetrates the cell membrane, begins to destroy it, which leads to high calcium permeability, and its large accumulation in the body leads to paralysis, then death occurs.
2. Pyrantel pamoate affects the nervous system of parasites. The substance blocks the transmission of nerve impulses, and this leads to death.
3. Fenbendazole, which is not included in preparations for babies and cats, is endowed with the ability to act not only on adult parasites, but also on their offspring in the form of eggs and larvae. This component destroys the cellular tubules of the intestines of helminths, and they cease to exist.

Getting into the gastrointestinal tract of the animal, the active substances quickly penetrate into the blood, which spreads them throughout the body. Components are excreted from the body of a quadruped within two days.

Indications for use

Prescribe drug for treatment:

• nematodes caused by roundworms;
• opisthorchiasis;
• cestodiasis caused by infection with tapeworms and their vital activity;
• mixed invasions.

"Prazitel" for dogs: instructions for use

This drug is good because it is not necessary to provide an animal with a hunger strike before using it. You need to give the medicine once - before the morning feeding. Shake the suspension and mix with food. Feed the dog. If the pet refuses to take the medicine like this, then act forcefully. Take the right amount of the drug into the dispenser, pour it onto the root of the tongue, close the dog's mouth, hold its head up until it swallows the medicine. The dose depends on the weight of the animal and the type of drug chosen:

1. "Prazitel" for dogs of small breeds and puppies in the form of a suspension without fenbendazole is calculated in 1 ml for each kilogram of weight. For adults and large breeds, such a medicine is not suitable, as it is weak.
2. Fenbendazole suspension is only suitable for medium, large breeds and adults. Here, the calculation of one milliliter is already 10 kilograms.
3. Puppy tablets (simply "Prazitel") are calculated as follows: one tablet for every kilogram.
4. "Prazitel plus" give 1 pill for every 10 kg of animal. Not applicablefor puppies and dogs smaller than 10 kilograms, since it will not be possible to calculate the exact dosage.

For prevention, the drug is used 1 time. When treating, the reception is repeated after 10 days.

Contraindications, side effects

Contraindications:

• up to two weeks old;
• pregnant dogs;
• when exhausted;
• postoperative period, recovery from diseases;
• within two weeks of delivery;
• component intolerance.

Side effects are very rare and only when the recommended dose is exceeded. Most commonly seen:

• depression;
• heavy salivation;
• diarrhea or vomiting.
