The beauty of the local area is given by the abundance of flowers and greenery. Often in the yard there is no place for an additional flower bed and high-quality landscaping. Potted flowers can come to the rescue here. Plants planted in outdoor planters look more interesting.

This is a container in which potted flowers or other containers with plants are placed. Unlike pots, planters do not have holes for draining excess liquid. Products made for the streets (most often) are made from more durable materials than those used inside homes.

Purpose of street flowerpots

Floor flower pot (including high) is used in several situations:

- to hide a worn, old flower pot;

- so that pots of different styles fit into the design style.

Hanging containers are used to decorate empty spaces.

Floor flower pots are usually installed on the threshold of the veranda, in the courtyard or on the balconies. You can use a long container that contains several pots, but you can also use a single design. Not less thanstands with vases are common. Flowers hanging from the pots will hide the stand. As a result, the view will be as if there is a bush or a tree in the yard.

Materials for making outdoor vases

Products are divided into types depending on materials:

- Plastic. Various colors, sizes, shapes of these containers are available. The floor planter made of plastic is easy to care for, it is not subject to the influence of either the sun, or the wind, or the cold. This material is quite resistant to shock: if a flower falls or a child accidentally hits it, it is likely that the flowerpot will remain intact. This is the cheapest and therefore the most popular option.

- Tree. Such products can be purchased, or you can make your own. In order to prevent rain and other precipitation from spoiling it, the floor planter is treated with special means.

- Ceramics. Products from it are in steady demand, because they have a very attractive appearance. Floor flower pots made from this material have an attractive color, are decorated with cute patterns, glaze is applied on top. This look makes the ceramic planter a desirable object for any interior.

- Metal. Most often, such planters are the result of forging.

- Artificial stone. This is a very durable material that can serve for many years, resistant to wear and the environment. There is a wide selection for sale. Such products can be incredibly beautiful, but their price is quite high.

Sometimes the floor planter is made ofconcrete, rattan, glass. You can independently weave a flowerpot using the macrame technique.

Where is the best place to install

There are several places where large flowerpots will look most impressive:

• At the entrance. You can put just one container, but a pair of symmetrically installed containers on both sides of the door looks better.
• Look great at the end of the path, on its bends, forks, at the benches.
• High floor planter can become the center of the patio, especially if the original flower grows in it. In the central part of the courtyard, a high concrete flowerpot looks very impressive.
• If you have a small garden, large planters will look great in the back. Bright flowers will decorate it, they will look great among the dense greenery.
• Need to climb the stairs to the house? At its foot and on each step (on both sides) identical flower pots with identical plants should be placed.
• No empty corners! If an empty space is found in the courtyard, it should be filled with a beautiful planter with a bright flower.
• If there are irregularities or ugly elements in the yard (for example, a sewer manhole), they can be decorated with large planters with cheerful flowers.
• A dull fence can be revived by placing tall plant containers along it.
• You can divide the space with a group of flowerpots: they are beautiful, they are easy to move if necessary. When choosing a place, it is important to take into account the preferences of plants: do they like light or is it better to build for themshadow.

DIY pots

This flowerpot can be made from improvised materials: use kitchen utensils, toys, unnecessary shoes for this. Barrels, watering cans, buckets, wicker baskets are used.

It's easy to make your own plaster pots. This requires:

- base;

- wire for frame;

- gypsum;

- fabric stripes;

- moisture resistant paints;

- decor.

You can use buckets or plastic pots as a base. They are installed on a flat surface upside down. Procedure:

- Braid the container with wire, hiding the edges.

- Remove frame.

- Dilute the plaster to a comfortable density. Dip strips of fabric and overlay the frame on both sides. The walls should become no thinner than 2 cm. The remaining solution is smeared on the surface. Leave to dry for a day.

- Clean the pots with sandpaper.

- Paint with paint.

This planter is decorated with various decor options. You can make it monophonic, multi-colored, create a mosaic of glass, beads, small stones. If the style requires, acrylic varnish can be applied to the surface.
