So different Yorkshire Terriers

Recognition of the breed for Yorkshire Terriers came in the 19th century. Yorkies were the result of crossing Skye Terriers, Manchesters and possibly a M altese. Over time, 9 variations of Yorkie coat color appeared, while tricolor dogs became very popular.

Beaver and Biro Yorkies are bright representatives of the group of companion dogs. Unlike active hunters, Yorkshire Terriers, Biewers and Biros are purely decorative breeds. In addition, they have an important property - the coat of these types of dogs is hypoallergenic, they practically do not shed, so people with various allergies can get them.

If in the eyes of a layman the differences between the breeds are hardly noticeable, then the specialist will immediately determine what is the uniqueness of these cute dogs.

Beaver Yorkies

Germanin 1987, a breeder named Biewer gave the world these charming, fluffy balls of dogs, naming the Biewer Yorkshire terrier a la pompon in his honor. A couple of years later, the German Dog Club registered the breed as an independent breed, in Russia it has been officially recognized since 2009.

Excellent companions, cute Biewer Yorkies accompany the owner with pleasure, without burdening him, because the mass of the Biewer is 2-3 kg, and the height does not exceed 22-27 cm.

Features of the appearance of the breed

Distinguishing a Biewer Yorkie from a Yorkshire Terrier is not difficult, you need to pay attention to the color of the animal's silky coat.

Body can be painted in 1 or 2 colors:

  • black and white;
  • blue and white;
  • all black;
  • blue tint and white chest.

Excluded strands of gold or brown on the body.

The proportional head stands out against the dark background of the body, symmetrical combinations of 3 coat colors look beautiful on it: white, blue, gold or black, white, gold.

On a rather long neck with prominent withers is a small head. The compact neat muzzle with a beard is not very long, the nose should be black.

Wool triangular ears are small and set high. Dark eyes are sly, not protruding, bordered with dark hair.

The paws of the bivers are well covered with thick, but not long hair, straight, strong, well-developed muscles. The claws are black or white.

Beaver breedyork woolen tail is not customary to dock, so it is proudly raised up.

Beaver Yorkie Character

Cheerful moving Biewer Yorkies leave no one indifferent. They are easy to train, because they just love active games. Smart, with a good memory, they get along well with people and animals.

Breeders note that Biewers are much less whimsical and capricious than Yorkshire Terriers. Such a dog is suitable for both a family with children and a person who is busy at work or alone.

What is a Biro Yorkie?

This brand new breed of dog has yet to be recognized by the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), which does not stop many people around the world from getting adorable dogs with interesting colors.

Similar to plush toys, Biro Yorkies were bred in 2004 in the Art of Highclass kennel (Germany), becoming the result of a mutation of Yorkshire Terrier Biewers. The combination of the names of the breeders - Birgit Resner and Robert Kra - became the name of the new breed.

At least one of the parents of a Biro Yorkshire Terrier puppy must be a carrier of the gene responsible for the brown color. Only in this case can we hope to get a beautiful dog that meets the requirements for the biro color: chocolate-colored spots with a hint of gold on a white background.

Although the Biro is bred in many countries around the world, the breed is not yet sustainable, because a few breeders do not guarantee offspring with permanent color traits: even 2 biro parents will not necessarily give offspringthe same color.

What does a biro look like?

A small companion dog Biro York weighs about 3 kg and is no more than 22 cm tall. The animal looks very elegant: long silky hair descends with a shiny mantle, parted on the back. Biro Yorkie coloration is prioritized:

  • tummy, chest and paws are white;
  • chocolate body with white chest or symmetrically colored chocolate white;
  • the hair on the head must have a combination of 3 colors - white, chocolate and gold.

The head of the Biro Yorkie is small, always on top of the forelock. Erect triangular ears are covered with wool. The nose is always brown. The muzzle is neat with a bearded chin, the head is connected to the body by a dense, but not massive neck.

A cute dog with a smart look of dark small eyes looks compact, straight paws evenly covered with hair. The fluffy tail of the biro is not docked, therefore it is set high.

The description of the Biro Yorkie breed would be incomplete without mentioning the peculiarity: in males, the testes are hidden in the scrotum.

Biro Yorkie Character

It is no coincidence that Biro Yorkies are companion dogs, they ideally coexist with humans. Playful and affectionate, at the same time Biro is not intrusive and calm. Biro Yorkie gets along well with children and even other animals - cats and dogs. With good care, the dog looks elegant, it is pleasant and easy to take with you.

Disadvantages of purebred dogs

To exhibit a pet,it is necessary that its exterior is fully consistent with the breeding requirements. Biewers and Biros sometimes have the following deviations from the breed norm:

  • light eyes;
  • lop-eared;
  • predominance of white in coloration or coloration similar to the Yorkshire Terrier;
  • missing teeth, crooked jaw;
  • too sparse or curly hair.

When choosing a Biro or Biewer Yorkie, you should carefully read the reputation of the breeder and reviews of his work and the pedigree of the puppy's parents.
