November in Russia, we have to admit, is not happy with the abundance of weekends. In the post-Soviet period, holidays in November were adjusted. Some holidays have been abolished, while others have taken an honorable red place in the calendar.

Despite the fact that there is only one holiday in this cold pre-winter month, it is interesting for its special dates.

For example, on November 18, an integral symbol of the New Year holidays, the Russian Santa Claus, celebrates his birthday. This day and month was not chosen by chance. After all, it was during this period in the homeland of Santa Claus - in the city of Veliky Ustyug - that the real winter begins with snow and bitter frosts. Birthday is celebrated according to all the rules - with guests and gifts. Santa Claus receives congratulations from his "foreign colleagues" - American Santa Claus, European Nikolaus, Dutch Sinderkalas and others.

Another interesting November date is November 8th. On this day, the humorous club KVN, beloved by many, celebrates its birthday. This date is associated with the first broadcast of the games - it took place on November 8, 1961. Since then, KVN has become one of the most beloved comedy programs, and almost every university has a club team.
