The animals, the most aggressive and more than once proving their power and abilities to rivals and other members of the pack, scientists called alpha males.
The Greek alphabet is very actively used by researchers for naming. Its first letter is alpha (α), which is why it was chosen to denote "the most-the most "males. Animals inferior to alphas, but still superior to other animals in strength or other characteristics, are called beta males (β). And so on. However, they don’t really have to sort it out - females themselves consider alphas as the best fathers for their future offspring.
What are the disadvantages in the life of such representatives of the stronger sex, even the animal world? It is easy to guess that other animals (slightly less strong, growing males) are aiming for the place of the leader. Consequently, from time to time, the alpha is involved in death duels for a place with beta males.
This is the answer to the question of whether it is possible for a beta male to become an alpha. You can, if the beta proves to the alpha and the flock its superiority in the duel. As for the fate of omega males, it is unenviable. They'll never make it to the top category, and it's built inbiologically. On some side, this is a plus - such animals do not participate in fights and can lead a calm, measured life. But animals have different values, one of the main instincts that drive them is the instinct of reproduction. Females have the right to choose and do not want to mate with infirm or weak animals - again, this is inherent in nature.
Why are some animals born alpha, while others are forced to drag out the existence of omega? Alfach - who is this? Born to be a leader or a lucky man who has such an honor? The word “born” is not quite right, rather, they become one or another in the process of life. All cubs are born basically the same, with the exception of a small number of individuals who are injured at birth. But the further development of the young animals goes according to different schemes. Some are active and inquisitive, they poke a curious nose everywhere, find food in time and eat right. These are potential alpha males. Kids are a little less active, but the same fidgets and fighters can become beta. Omegas can be born perfectly he althy, but become incapacitated as they grow up. Another option: a small animal does not get enough food and grows weak and underdeveloped. Well, how can he fight for the best place in the sun?

Human society has outplayed the laws of evolution and nature, and the weakest weak omega can act as a legitimate alpha.
