Materials for making a bracelet

Simple bracelet

In order to make simple bracelets on the palm, it will be enough to have a plastic base in the form of a ring and a small piece of leather. The diameter of the bracelet should be such that it can easily fit on the hand. This should be taken into account when choosing a plastic base. This is where polyethylene bottles or jars of various sizes can come in handy.

After the base is prepared, you need to apply a thin layer of PVA glue on its surface and let it dry a little. Then wrap with a strip of soft leather so that the layers overlap each other. If a leather cord is used for these purposes, then it is better to place it on a fabric previously glued to a plastic base. This will make the palm bracelets more voluminous and resistant to kinks and bending. It is worth remembering that the coils of the cord should be very close to each other to avoid the formation of gaps.

After the entire base is covered with leather, you need to lubricate the end of the tape or cord with glue and place it under the adjacent coils. Then let the glue dry completely. You can use a hair dryer or other source of warm air to speed up the drying process.

The resulting bracelet can be decorated with colored beads and metal rivets. For these purposes, it is worth using a thin nylon thread. Rough bracelet

In order to make more complex wrist bracelets, you will need leather 4-6 mm thick. It will be quite rough and durable, so you should be patient when processing it. From the existing leather sample, you need to cut the blank, based on the shape of the future product.

Given the fact that when treated with hot water, the bracelet will shrink by several centimeters in the palm of your hand, it is recommended to make it 3-4 cm longer than the estimated final size.

Drawing on leather

The next step is to apply a pattern or pattern to the outside of the workpiece. To do this, it must be transferred to the surface of the bracelet. This can be done with a printer or carbon paper. For those who have drawing skills, this will not be a problem. They will be able to draw the desired image directly on the workpiece.

If very dark leather is used to make the bracelet, then the design can be transferred with a needle, making punctures along the contour of the image.

After the pattern is completely applied to the surface of the skin, using a sharp knife, you need to make cuts along the contour to a depth of 2/3 of the thickness of the workpiece. On the edge of the bracelet, you can punch several holes for lacing. For these purposes, it is convenient to use a punch.

In order for the bracelet not to shrink when immersed in hot water, it must be put on the glassjar or bottle and lace up. Next, the jar with the workpiece should be immersed in boiling water until the edges of the pattern begin to diverge.
