Choosing a toy for a child is not as easy as it seems. Dolls, cars, animal figurines… The assortment of modern shops makes the eyes run in different directions. And almost always on the shelves there is a huge selection of horses of various colors and sizes.

Almost every child has a toy-horse. Rocking horses with semicircular runners and handles on their heads are great for kids, on which you can swing, simultaneously training the vestibular apparatus and coordination of movements. Such toys can be made of plastic, wood, or plush (faux fur). Each option has its own advantages and disadvantages. Fur horses are very soft and pleasant to the touch, they are usually liked by kids, but they collect a lot of dust and are difficult to wash. In cheap market toys, the fur villi are not fixed very firmly, so they climb in tufts, which is not at all useful for the crumbs. Plastic horses are light weight, they can be easily wiped or washed. However, plastic is easily scratched, chips can form on it (especially for specimens of not very high quality). The wooden horse toy is, as they say, a classic of the genre. It is strong and durable, but heavier than most plastic and fur options.

In addition to rocking horses, there are wheelchair horses that have wheels instead of skids. The kid can push off the floor with his legs and thus “jump” on his horse. Adults can also roll crumbs. In addition, there are also original transformers that can be turned into both a wheelchair and a rocking chair by rearranging the runners or turning them over.

When the baby grows up, the horse toy does not lose its relevance. A variety of figures made of rubber and plastic allow you to invent a lot of role-playing games, you can take them for walks and trips. There are even whole farm play sets, as well as toy families of horses. As you can see in the photo, horse toys of this type are relevant for both girls and boys.

Specially for girls, a lot of toys are produced with a variety of accessories, dolls, carriages. This is ideal for role playing. And for future men, sets are perfect, which, along with horses, include little men (soldiers, knights, etc.)

Talking about toys would be incomplete without mentioning ponies. These are not just toys. Little horses are the heroes of the famous animated series "Friendship is a miracle", which won the hearts of girls in many countries of the world. Ponies are produced for every taste: from miniature figures (approximately5 cm) to sufficiently large interactive toys (plastic and plush).

Psychologists have an interesting theory based on the preferences of the child. So, if a toy horse has become a baby’s favorite, this may indicate that he is trying on the role of a horse, and not a rider, that is, he will largely depend on others (as a horse depends on the owner who feeds it) and is unlikely can turn the situation around. In addition, a lover of toy horses is, quite possibly, a future workaholic, ready to work until you drop, and for a very modest remuneration. The theory, of course, is very controversial, but if you approach it wisely, you can from time to time speak with the child various points, giving him the opportunity to be not only a “horse”, but also a “rider”, and instilling in him the confidence that everything (or at least a lot) in life depends on it. The latter will be useful for any growing person: both the one whose favorite toy is a horse, and the one who is crazy about cats, bunnies, dolls, robots, etc.
