A very extensive and interesting program awaited residents and guests on City Day. Kazan was glorified from the very morning in the park of the Volga region - the program was called "I love you, my Kazan!".

City Day at the Museum
The National Museum of Tatarstan prepared the program "Priceless Stories" on the Day of the City "Kazan-2013"pages". Throughout almost the entire day, museum guests could take part in the super game "In Search of Treasures", which in an entertaining way introduced the expositions of this museum. Thematic excursions, practical workshops on several types of crafts and medieval dances were organized. Visitors were free to view stock displays and listen to lectures on unique rarities stored in the museum's collections. For the youngest visitors, the museum staff organized a playground, and for lovers of modern computer technology - IT-park.
Kazan Hippodrome
In the equestrian sports complex of the highest level, horse racing for the Prize of the President of Tatarstan, traditionally held on City Day, took place. Kazan hosted participants from all regions of Russia: Perm Territory, Bashkiria, Moscow, Tyumen, Samara, Kirov and other regions. The race was held in three races.
A fascinating program "Zilantcon", prepared by the team of the convention of fantasy and role-playing games, worked on May 1st Square. Everyone who wished to try their hand at safe weapon fights and master classes, looked at archery competitions and participated in the crafts festival. Also City Day "Kazan-2013" brought together fans to sing karaoke and play in theatrical miniatures.
Evening program
In front of the Palace of Farmers, on the square, at 8 pm, the III Kazan Autumn Opera Festival began inaccompanied by the famous symphony orchestra of Tatarstan. Everyone could enjoy the bewitching singing of the famous guests of the festival - Albina Shagimuratova and Dmitry Hvorostovsky.
Guests also arrived from Latvia to participate in the famous concert on the City Day. Kazan was visited by the Brainstorm group. The concert was also attended by musical groups from all over Tatarstan and from the capital of the republic.
In places where public events were held, as well as on the streets nearby, parking of personal vehicles was prohibited. Car owners who decided to take a chance and leave their four-wheeled friends in a prohibited place were in for an unpleasant surprise: the cars were evacuated to the parking lot. Public transport worked until midnight that day.
The day of the city ended with a grand fireworks display. Kazan thus thanked all residents and guests who took part in the celebration.
