In our article we want to talk about two wonderful breeds of cats - Burmese and Burmese. Due to very similar names, which, in fact, differ only in one letter, these animals are very often confused. Let's understand the features of both breeds.

Burmese cat

Burmese cat (photo is given in the article) has a shorter name - Burmese. Their homeland is Burma. Since ancient times, the Burmese cat has been very revered there. More than five hundred years ago, this animal was considered sacred. Such cats lived in temples, and monks looked after them there, and it was believed: the better they take care of them, the closer they will be to God.

And only in 1930 the Burmese cat (Wong Mau) was brought to America. There he was crossed with a seal point (Siamese). And only the great-grandchildren of Wong Mau became purebred representatives of the breed. Then the Burmese cat came to England, and only later it became widespread throughout Europe.

Genetics have done a great job. Currently, the Burmese cat (photos are given in our article) is presented in ten color variations: chocolate, brown, lilac, blue,red and four more tortie Burmese. An interesting fact is that each color of the animal has its own eye color. Burmese character

The Burmese cat has a medium size, neat and dense physique. The coat fits snugly, emphasizing the muscular body. Externally, the Burmese cat (photos show the physique) does not at all give the impression of a large animal, however, when you pick it up in your arms, you will feel a decent weight.

When visiting a breeder, you should definitely pay attention to the conditions of the animals. The room where the kittens live must certainly be clean and warm, without foreign odors. Toddlers should have their own corner with different toys.

You have every right to ask to see the parents of the kittens. It is very important. If you are refused, then this is a serious reason to be wary, it is better not to purchase an animal from such a person. Sometimes, instead of a pedigree, they can only issue a card for a kitten, which can later be exchanged at the club where the mating was registered. The sale and purchase agreement itself is drawn up at the request of people, however, as a rule, professionals sell animals only when it is concluded, sincethey care about the future life of the kids.

Burmese cat care

Outwardly, this breed seems clumsy, but this is only the first impression. In fact, these are very mobile and jumping animals, they are very fond of climbing trees or some kind of homemade game equipment. If you are planning a trip with a cat to the country or just want to walk it, then it is better to use a leash. Burmese are very active, and therefore can slip out of the premises unnoticed.

Animals enjoy not only eating traditional cat food, but can also enjoy boiled vegetables, cottage cheese, cheese, pasta, ham, sausage, black bread and even butter.

Burmese are short-haired animals, and therefore special care for their coat is not needed. However, during periods of seasonal molting, cats need to be carefully combed out with a special brush. Pets should also have their nails trimmed every two weeks.

It is also preferable to maintain a temperature of 20-22 degrees in the room where the cat lives. Since the breed is long-haired, careful care will be required from the owners. Wool is combed twice a day, and during periods of shedding even more often, otherwise tangles may form.
