The first gene gives ticking on the hairs of the animal with the same frequency of stripes. In this case, the color with triple zoning is considered ideal. Mandatory for such a conformation is, among other things, a stripe on the back of a slightly darker shade than the color of the body.

The gene for common ticking does not give the number of stripes on the hairs and their distribution, but simply smooths out the saturation in the color of the cat. The homozygous form of this U gene is able to make the pattern on the animal's body almost invisible. In the heterozygous, at the same time, a clear pattern is observed on the paws and tail, as well as a shadow pattern on the body. Such a gene has a feature that begins its work from the very birth of a kitten.
