Homemade cookies - what could be tastier and more interesting, especially if there are children in the house? With what joy the kids perceive their mother's words: “Today we will bake cookies!” With what rapture they help to knead the dough, and then cut out the cookies! That is why every good mother should have a wide variety of cookie cutters at home. Fortunately, in our time it is not difficult to purchase them: in almost every specialized store or even in a simple household store there is a huge selection of such molds. You can find something for every taste: both plastic ones with special handles for holding, and metal ones, for flat cookies or voluminous ones, in the form of figures of animals, letters, numbers, and even thematic ones, for example, for the New Year and Christmas.

Do-it-yourself cookie cutters? Easy

But what to do if you want cookies, but there are no molds at hand? Or is there, but not the right ones? In this case, do not despair at all, you can make the desired shape yourself. To do this, you need a tin can, for example from condensed milk, scissors, cardboard and a pencil. On cardboard, draw the desired shape: a key, a heart, a Christmas tree - and cut it out. Cut off from the washed jartin strip, then gently bending, give it the desired shape. You should be careful not to injure yourself with a sharp edge: it is better to bend it. At the junction, solder the tin strip or fasten it in any other way.

Thus we make several different figures. Everything, the cookie cutters are ready, you can start baking! And here is the recipe for a delicious dessert.

Baking cookies

For cooking you will need: one and a half cups of flour, two tablespoons of starch (can be cornstarch), a glass of powdered sugar, two-thirds of a pack of butter. For decoration: two cups of powdered sugar, one-fourth cup of milk, so much the same syrup, a teaspoon of any extract (vanilla, mint, lemon), decorations for confectionery (sprinklings, dyes, pencils). Knead the dough from the listed ingredients and place it in the refrigerator for a short while. Then roll into a thin layer and, using cookie cutters, cut out shapes. It does not take long to bake the products, 20 minutes is enough. While the cookies are in the oven, it is worth preparing the icing: mix the powder and milk with a whisk, add the extract, and then experiment. Decorate the cooled dessert as your imagination allows.

In the winter cold, many people think about our smaller brothers, including birds. It becomes difficult for birds to get food, so the right decision is to feed them. And you can even do it fun: make food forbirds using cookie cutters. All you need is a variety of food, some flour, starch for gluing and boiling water. Mix all the ingredients, and then put in cookie cutters, forming holes through which the ribbons will be threaded. Wait for the food to harden, insert the strings, remove the molds and hang the treat for the birds on the trees. This use of baking pans by birds is sure to be appreciated.
