Watercolor colored pencils are quite popular nowadays. They look like ordinary ones, but their “trick” is that if you draw a soft brush dipped in water over the painted area, the pigments will dissolve, and you will get the effect of a real watercolor. Paintings that combine both blur and strokes look very original, unusual and picturesque.
It is important to remember that drawing with colored pencils almost eliminates the possibility of correction, so you should beextremely careful. But you can still use a plastic eraser to eliminate minor defects. For example, if you accidentally forgot to mark a highlight somewhere, you can use it to carefully remove part of the pigment. But it will have to be constantly cleaned so that it remains a little rough and is able to remove the next layer of paint.
Experienced artists skillfully "scrape" forgotten highlights with a regular blade, but this is done with extreme care to remove the thinnest layer of paper. By the way, it is better to take thick enough paper for drawing with colored pencils. The one that is usually found in children's sketchbooks is not suitable, because it is too thin and simply cannot withstand heavy loads. The best option is pastel paper.
